To whom it may concern,
Since the attack on Armenia and Artsakh on September 27, the Armenian nation has gone through truly difficult times. Following the announced truce on November 10, we stand before a monumental challenge, navigating through hardship concerning not only the future of Artsakh but also Armenia.
It is imperative that government, opposition and the public remain vigilant and focused on the task in front of us. That requires unity, not division. But above all, what is unequivocally clear is the fact that there are no room for threats of violence.
In April 2018 the world heralded the Velvet Revolution by saying that “Armenians had danced their way to a revolution.” Do not allow that popular movement and the hope for a better future it brought to our nation to come to any harm.
The Union of Armenian Associations in Sweden calls on all parties to refrain from any use of force or actions which will endanger the security and the unity of Armenia and Artsakh. In these extraordinary times, the last thing Armenia, Artsakh and Armenians need is to lose sight of the common challenge and instead taking measures against each other. Restrain your emotions, set aside your personal interests and cooperate for the sake of our country and nation. Yeghishe Charents’ words are not only for reciting, live up to their wisdom: “Ով հայ ժողովուրդ, քո միակ փրկությունը քո հավաքական ուժի մեջ է”:
